Red-eyes was coined in the anime with the dragon to have a lot of potential
Red-eyes was used as fusion material and support (Black Skull Dragon and Meteor B. Dragon also metalmorph)
There are many power-up forms of red eyes. Metal, Darkness, Darkness metal, and MAlefic
And it's history, Chick, wyvern, Refular Red-eyes annd all the way into Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon!!!

Ok, I think I've got a good one:

I used to level up, but that life is no more.
The darkness inside was just too much to ignore.
What am I?

Now that I think about it, there are two possible candidates for this, for similar reasons, so I will be taking both as an answer.
